Online Testing Patent Technology to Auction on November 11th at ICAP Ocean Tomo's Fall 2010 Live IP Auction
CHICAGO, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Ocean Tomo, the intellectual property brokerage division of ICAP plc (IAP.L) and the world's premier patent auction firm, will auction technology related to the secure administration and evaluation of online tests at the upcoming Fall 2010 Live Auction in Napa, California on November 11th.

With the rise in online education, there has been a significant increase in the number of tests administered over the internet. The US patent and application in this lot provide test administrators with a testing mechanism that ensures a fair administration of online testing using encrypted test files and biometric data. The technology described by the assets also provides for the combination of multimedia such as audio, video, or graphics within the test content. Biometric details (fingerprints, retinal scans, etc.) are taken from each participant and are sent with the participant's test responses in separate encrypted files to a remote server for evaluation. The use of encrypted files enhances security levels, while the biometric data based verification prevents unauthorized access.
