DynamicOps is First with Full-Featured, Flexible Platform for On-Demand IT

Extends virtualization management to physical servers, private and public clouds

LEXINGTON, Mass., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- DynamicOps is extending its expertise in virtualization and private cloud management by introducing the DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center (DCAC). It is the industry's first full-featured, flexible platform for defining and rapidly automating the delivery and management of on-demand IT services on a shared multi-tenant private or public cloud infrastructure.

DCAC extends the DynamicOps technology beyond management of virtual resources and private cloud to support physical infrastructure and public cloud. Four DCAC components may be used separately or together:

--  Physical Resource Manager offers bare-metal provisioning and lifecycle
management of Windows and Linux operating systems, application software,
and multiple hypervisor platforms on x86/x64-based servers.
--  External Cloud Manager is a single portal to provision and manage
private and public cloud services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud
        (EC2).
--  DesignCenter rapidly integrates DCAC into existing systems and
management processes while ensuring consistency with established
        security, multi-tenancy, policy, and controls.
--  Virtual Resource Manager, DynamicOps' first product, automates delivery
and enforces operational control over provisioning and ongoing lifecycle
management of virtual desktops and servers.

Two weeks ago, DynamicOps said it had signed a multi-year licensing and distribution agreement where DynamicOps software will be a component of Dell's recently introduced Virtual Integrated System architecture.

DynamicOps new offering satisfies the growing need for an automation solution that can quickly and easily define and deliver IT services for virtual and physical machines in private and public clouds in a controlled, policy-enforced manner.  DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center meets these requirements with a solution that is flexible and customizable, scalable, affordable, and operates in a multi-vendor environment.

"Consistent delivery of high-quality IT services is essential for companies to maintain a competitive edge. That's why enterprises have so many requirements for the software that automates and manages their IT infrastructure. They want a single solution to automate across the virtual and physical worlds, better control over public and private cloud resources, and the choice for best-of breed products for their data center," noted Donna Scott, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner. "Enterprises will achieve IT agility only through very effective automated IT resource management."

The DynamicOps Cloud Automation Center can reduce the time to deploy new IT resources by months or weeks and help companies meet time-critical market opportunities. A large company with 10,000 or more physical servers could save nearly $5 million in capital and operational costs, just by reducing duplication of virtual and physical resources, reclaiming unused servers and desktops faster, and effectively managing the company's real need for compute resources.

"As organizations virtualize more of their server and desktop infrastructure and build private clouds, they continue to discover that flexibility is equally as important as specific features," said Rich Krueger, CEO, DynamicOps. "DCAC is the only product that provides all the key features across a diverse set of IT infrastructures to automate virtualization management and build private clouds, as well as the extensibility features necessary to adapt and integrate with an existing management ecosystem."

DynamicOps technology has been running in both mid-sized and large enterprises for five years, beginning with deployment across four global data centers at Credit Suisse before the financial services company launched DynamicOps and offered a commercial solution to the market in 2008. Today, DynamicOps software supports more than 100,000 virtual servers and desktops across a range of industries worldwide.

DCAC is available now.
