Verizon Idea Exchange a Great Place to Contribute to Improved Products and Services

New Online Exchange for Verizon Community Forums Enables Direct Collaboration With Verizon Product Development Teams

NEW YORK, Oct. 7  /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon has launched a new Idea Exchange in its online community (http://verizon.com/ideaexchange) that offers community members an opportunity to suggest product innovations and enhancements from Verizon, and to comment on suggestions by members' peers. Daily votes by community members move top suggestions to the company's product development teams for further review.

"We know that staying close to our customers is the best way to identify emerging opportunities for new features and services," said Verizon E-commerce Director Mark Studness. "The new Verizon Idea Exchange enables open innovation by allowing anyone to submit ideas, collaborate with others to refine the idea and vote on ideas.

"What's unique here is that these ideas will be an integral part of our product development process and go directly to our product development teams. The result will be crowd-sourced ideas that have the potential to make a big impact on future Verizon products and services," said Studness.

The Idea Exchange platform was developed by Lithium Technologies Inc., a leader in social customer-relationship solutions. The Idea Exchange offers a simple four-step process that consists of idea submission, peer review on the Idea Exchange page, voting, and then a review of the top ideas by Verizon's product teams for further development. Verizon will keep community members informed of a proposal's status, via the Idea Exchange itself.

"We're excited about what this platform can do to engage Verizon's customers and create a systematic approach for user-initiated products and services," said Lithium Chief Marketing Officer Katy Keim. "Verizon customers are very passionate about their use of Verizon's products. This solution allows them a simple way to provide feedback and hear about other community-member recommendations. Bottom line: Innovations from the Ideas Exchange will provide all customers with improvements to Verizon's cutting-edge products and services."
