IDENTEC SOLUTIONS Takes Firm Hold of Marine and Intermodal Market With Acquisition of Sattel
LUSTENAU, Austria, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, the global leader of active RFID and industrial wireless sensor networks, announced today that it has acquired the assets of Satellite Telemetry (Aust) Pty Ltd (Sattel) from container terminal operating group DP World.
Previously a wholly-owned subsidiary of DP World, Sattel provides DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) based tracking and telemetry systems to the global container terminal industry. The company has installations in Asia, Australasia, Europe and the USA.
"Strengthening our position in this market has been part of our overall strategic growth strategy," states Gerhard Schedler, President & CEO of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS. "We assessed that this vertical would be better served by having access to a comprehensive suite of solutions that are easily integrated into existing infrastructure or leveraged from a single platform. Sattel's technology proved to be a natural extension to our existing solutions for the marine and intermodal market."
Over the past four years, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS has established a firm foothold in the global marine terminal market, deploying both proprietary and technology partner systems for gate, yard and quay automation projects in Australia, Europe, the USA and Latin America. By incorporating Sattel's hardware and software into the company's total visibility and control platform, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS can expand its marine & intermodal portfolio to include the industry's most comprehensive range of systems. The suite of solutions includes RFID, GPS, RTLS, sensor technologies, as well as a full range of software applications for both powered and non powered assets.
With the formalization of the acquisition in place, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS' global marine and intermodal support team will manage and support all existing Sattel installations.
