Create iPhone Apps on Windows PCs With Rhomobile RhoHub

Mobile Development As a Service Enables Developers to Create iPhone apps from a Windows-based PC

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/--Rhomobile today announced that RhoHub, the world's first mobileDevelopment As a Service, now allows developers to create native iPhone and iPad apps from a Windows-based PC.   The RhoHub hosted service allows iPhone developers to write their application in HTML, Javascript and Ruby instead of in Objective C using the open source Rhodes framework.

RhoHub now allows developers - on Mac, Linux and Windows-based PCs - to easily create native mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Android phones.  With the introduction of iOS build capability, RhoHub provides a cost-efficient and easy way to build powerful iPhone applications without having to install the iOS SDK locally. Using RhoHub's hosted build cloud accessible from any web browser developers can write complex, native applications that take full advantage of the iPhone's capabilities such as GPS, PIM data, geolocation, native mapping, camera, native push and alerts, barcode reading and signature capture.

"Our goal is to allow developers to leverage their existing skills to create powerful native apps that work across all major smartphones," said Rhomobile CEO Adam Blum. "With RhoHub 2.0 we introduced the ability to use your preferred local editor while performing hosted builds.  Now developers can use either a Mac or Windows-based PC to create apps for the iPhone, giving developers unrivaled flexibility."

Rhomobile offerings provide features and facilities required for enterprise-class native applications. Features such as hosted data synchronization give end-users access to data even when offline and disconnected. Through RhoHub's integration with RhoSync, a standalone sync server for enterprise data, iPhone developers can leverage their own RhoHub-hosted RhoSync server to quickly test and deploy their sync-enabled Rhodes application.
