Solta Medical Launches Ground-Breaking Social Media Campaign for Isolaz Brand

"Stop The Pop" Campaign Engages Younger Adults in Novel Acne Treatment

HAYWARD, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Solta Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: SLTM), a global leader in the medical aesthetics market, continues to break new ground with its innovative marketing campaigns.  Solta Medical partnered with a leading YouTube trend-setter and trusted beauty advisor for young adults, Elle Fowler, to launch a first-of-its-kind social media campaign for Isolaz((TM)) acne therapy. Stop-The-Pop.com is an interactive web site that provides a platform encouraging visitors to share their personal experiences with acne and to dispel common misconceptions associated with the condition.

The Stop the Pop campaign has established a strong connection with young adults, a previously untapped market for Solta Medical. Visitors to the site can watch Elle's review of her own Isolaz treatment, submit testimonials of their own acne experiences, and receive the opportunity to be selected to try the treatment first-hand.  Those entrants that are selected to join the "Pop Squad" will receive Isolaz treatments and will be encouraged to chronicle their experience online, like Elle.

In just one week since the launch, Stop the Pop has received overwhelming responses. Elle's first video has been viewed by more than 220,000 people in 110 countries and over 1,200 people have submitted their acne stories.  The campaign just added an interactive game: Stop the Pop Ninja!  Hosted on http://www.stop-the-pop.com, the game engages users to join the fight against acne, taking aim and blasting the causes of acne - much like the Isolaz system.  This viral game gives visitors a reason to come back to the site and share the game with their friends.

"Introducing a new product, especially one aimed at a young demographic, is both exciting and challenging," said Jeff Nardoci, Vice President of Global Marketing, Solta Medical. "Stop the Pop is successful because it fills a need for an underserved consumer in the aesthetic industry -- young adults, who are looking for an acne treatment that works and one that helps them regain confidence."

In February 2010, Solta finalized the acquisition of Aesthera's acne treatment systems - the Isolaz and Isolaz Pro platforms. Both are based on proprietary Photopneumatic((TM) )technology and are the only laser or light based devices to receive FDA clearance for the treatment of mild-to-moderate acne, as well as acne vulgaris, comedonal acne and pustular acne. These conditions impact an estimated fifty million individuals in the U.S. annually. Isolaz treatments have an immediate visible impact on acne 24 - 48 hour post first treatment. Facial treatments take as little as 10 minutes, require no anesthetics or numbing creams, and provide additional cosmetic benefits such as smoother appearing skin.

"We are proud that Solta Medical has successfully integrated the Isolaz brand into our global sales and marketing organization and that we are providing physicians and their patients with an effective alternative to oral acne drug treatments and their associated side effects," said Stephen J. Fanning, Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO of Solta Medical.  "At Solta Medical, we constantly strive to create emotional connections with our consumers and build programs that set us apart in our industry.  This innovative campaign demonstrates the ongoing commitment that Solta makes when adding new brands to our portfolio."
