Uvisor Launches Full-Service Career Advisor Website

Uvisor.com offers free intelligent job search, automated career match, resume building and comprehensive relocation tool as U.S. jobless rate hovers near record high Game-Changing Start-up Invited to Prestigious Silicon Valley Conference

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Uvisor, a new full-service career advisor website, is now available to help millions of unemployed Americans land a job, the company announced today.  In addition to free, intelligent job search of more than 630,000 positions in the Uvisor database, the website is a one-stop hub for identifying the best career match, applying for a job and expediting the hiring process.

"Uvisor gives anyone looking to begin, establish, further or change their career a leg up in the process," said company Co-founder Bryan Jakovcic. "Millions of Americans need a job.  And millions more are unhappy in their current career.  Uvisor is now available to be their career coach and mentor during one of the toughest job markets we've seen in decades."

The jobless rate in the United States is hovering near a record high. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the national unemployment rate is 9.6 percent, or 14.9 million people.  42 percent of all unemployed people have been out of work for 27 weeks or more.  And, even though one in 10 Americans is out of a job, those who are employed are increasingly dissatisfied.  According to a recent study by The Conference Board, the U.S. job satisfaction rate is at the lowest level in two decades with fewer than half of U.S. workers satisfied with their jobs.

"Uvisor is about you.  We understand the frustration and anxiety that go along with a career search," said Uvisor Co-founder Jamie Sawicki.  "We worked with organizational psychologists, human resource professionals, hiring managers, job seekers and recruiters to streamline the process.  We developed 12 patent-pending technologies to support you through five simple steps from identifying the right career to getting hired."

Visitors to Uvisor.com can conduct a standard job search or sign up for a free MyUvisor account for complete career assistance.  MyUvisor guides them through the following five steps:

1. Define Yourself - Prompts you to enter the basics:  your name, address, education, skills, hobbies, work experience, certifications, optional photo upload, social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skype) and references.  Requests additional information on your work experience such as satisfaction with position, work environment and overall challenge.  This information is factored in to a proprietary, patent-pending algorithm to provide a more effective career match.

2. Assist U - Asks you a series of personal, unique questions.  Pulls top 25 characteristics based on your answers and prompts you to assess yourself on a scale of one to ten.  Assessed characteristics could include, but are not limited to:

a. Skills - active listening, reading comprehension, speaking, writing, critical thinking

b. Abilities - oral expression, oral comprehension, written comprehension, problem solving, written expression

c. Work style - attention to detail, integrity, dependability, analytical thinking, initiative

Submitting this section activates the Uvisor algorithm, which calculates your top five career interests.

3. U Go! - This section provides extensive dollars and cents relocation information on 56 categories including the cost of housing, gas, electric bill, bread, haircut, dentist and pizza by U.S. cities or states.  You can enter up to six target locations and U Go! will compare the cost of living of each of those cities to your current location.

4. ResUme - Automatically builds multiple, custom resumes.  You can select from eight formats, fonts and colors.  Saves multiple resumes tailored to specific sectors or positions.  Resume automatically updates based on any changes you enter in the Define Yourself section - your resume evolves as your career evolves.

5. Get Hired - Provides automated job matches based on personal data and available positions in the Uvisor database.  A one-click application process migrates data from a user's profile directly to a specific job application.  Tracks positions applied for by date.  Offers users UNetwork, automatic access to your LinkedIn account to instantly identify and network with contacts at a specific company/employer.  Categorizes jobs by 'favorite matches' and archives jobs that user disliked.

  Additional Uvisor features include:
--  Extensive background information on all companies in the database
including revenue, competitors, notable products and employee count
--  Details on specific careers such as salary range, description of
responsibilities and an assessment of industry by people who have a
      related career
--  Standard job search of all available positions in Uvisor database for
users who choose not to build a profile

"Most online job search companies provide very little analytical data for job seekers to compare one career opportunity to another," said organizational psychologist Dr. Andrew Simon.  "Every Uvisor job posting is analyzed through a proprietary algorithm that provides users with the ability to pinpoint the best opportunities for them based on several factors including goals, skills and personality."

Uvisor unveiled the new career advisor website today at DEMO Fall 2010, an exclusive, invitation-only technology conference in Silicon Valley. For nearly two decades DEMO has provided a window into technology's future and introduced the public to global entrepreneurs and companies such as TiVo, Adobe and Palm Pilot.
