i3 America Gets Approval From City of Quincy, IL For Innovative Fiber-to-the-Home Pilot Project

Marks First US Installation by this Fiber Optic Infrastructure Solution Provider; Pilot Demonstrates Low-Cost, Minimally Disruptive Deployment of Ultra High-Speed Connectivity

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 13 -- i3 America, the US division of i3 Group, announced today that the City of Quincy, Illinois has approved a pilot project to demonstrate the Company's internationally patented technologies and methodologies. i3 Group is a pioneer in building dark fiber optic networks using ready-made ducts, including the sewer system, to enable super fast connectivity, The Company is working to lower the costs of delivering fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) for the residents, businesses and community of Quincy.  The pilot project in Quincy, IL will be the first for i3 America in the U.S. market.

"US homes and companies need access to high-speed broadband and i3 America's mission is to bring affordable fiber networks to cities and regions across the country," said Elfed Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of i3 Group.  "The City of Quincy consistently has shown an innovative and forward-thinking approach to providing services to its residents and businesses and we are pleased by the support of Mayor Spring, the City Council and city officials, in allowing us to demonstrate the  value of our fiber-to-the-home solution."

The Company has developed a unique fiber optic infrastructure delivery system, through waste water networks that can be deployed faster and for a fraction of the cost of traditional methods.  The Company's Fibrecity(TM) Network is an open-access platform that provides cost effective FTTH connectivity for broadband service up to current speeds of 100 mbps, allowing users to work and play using next generation services now. Fibrecity networks currently are being rolled out in England and Scotland, with a pilot also running in Australia.

"Quincy will benefit from installing a fiber-to-the-home network and we are very interested in seeing how i3 America may be able to work with us to achieve this goal," said Mayor John A. Spring.  "The pilot project, with no financial obligation for the City, will allow us to test i3 America's technology and construction methods as well as gauge the compatibility of our sewer system for a possible roll-out to the entire community."

The pilot project timeline envisions four days for deployment followed by a 30-day evaluation period.
