HardDrives.com, Computer Hardware Domain Name & Website to be Auctioned Off at Epik.com Domain Development Conference

Global Hard Drive Manufacturers and Consumer Electronics Retailers vie for control of high-ranking descriptive domain name and e-commerce website

SEATTLE, Sept. 8 -- Epik.com, a leading domain name development company, has released a list of developed domain names to be auctioned off on September 16, at 1:30 pm at the Bell Harbor Conference Center Bay Auditorium in Seattle. The domain auction is part of the inaugural Epik.com Domain Developers Conference being held September 15 - 17.  The live auction event is open to the public.

One of the featured developed domain names is http://www.HardDrives.com. Hard Drives are used in commercial applications such as RAID systems, Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems. Hard drives are also found in most consumer digital electronics such as cars, desktop computers, laptop computers, cell phones, camcorders, digital audio players, digital video recorders, video game consoles and more.

"The Hard Drive market remains robust with industry titans Seagate and Western Digital alone booking more than $20 billion in annual sales. The volume of data is exploding and the means for storing it is still dependent on the industry workhouse - the Hard Drive. Despite the promise of Solid State Drives, all indications are that Hard Drives will be with us for a very long time to come. Moreover, consumers still refer to SSDs as Hard Drives," says Rob Monster, Chairman and CEO of Epik.com. "Virtually every commercial and consumer digital product on the market has a built-in hard drive. Any company relevant to hard drive manufacturing and/or retail sales such as Seagate, Western Digital, Lacie, Toshiba, Hitachi, Dell, IBM, etc. would significantly strengthen their market share by controlling an Internet asset ranked on the first page of the two leading search engines for the term 'Hard Drives'," said Mr. Monster.

Market segments for hard drives are typically divided into four main areas.  These include Enterprise computing, desktop computers, mobile computing and consumer electronics. Mobile and consumer electronics are the fastest growing segments.

"As someone with over 100,000 followers in my audience, I can confidently tell you that most would gravitate to a descriptive domain name like HardDrives.com," says Chris Pirillo, Founder of Lockergnome.com and social media celebrity. "That domain exudes trust and relevance and it's easy to remember. Instead of conducting research at NewEgg.com, Geeks.com, BestBuy.com, CompUSA.com, Frys.com, Seagate.com, TigerDirect.com and others, most would start at a product-defining domain and website like HardDrives.com," said Mr. Pirillo.

Interested parties can participate in the live auction in-person or online through a real-time Internet interface. Those wanting to submit a proxy bid for the domain and website auction can contact Epik.com directly for more information and instructions.

The Epik.com developed website auction will feature over 300 revenue-producing businesses built on the Epik platform including ETF.com, CO2.com, AbdominalTrainer.com, Collision.com, Spoons.com, Complain.com, Haircare.com, Heroine.com, Maid.com, HDProjector.com, Poster.com, WirelessHeadphone.com, WiFi.com and more. The auction is managed by Moniker® (http://www.moniker.com) and SnapNames® (http://www.snapnames.com), both Oversee.net® companies and providers of domain name registration, management, monetization, and brokerage services. Bidders can follow the auction live and, bid online or in person. Conference details can be found at: http://epik.com/Conf/.
