Comcast Launches High-Speed 2go Wireless Data Service in 10 Additional Eastern Division Markets

OAKS, Pa., July 13 -- Comcast Corporation, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information, and communications products and services, announced the launch of its high-speed wireless data service in 10 additional Eastern Division markets today as the company continues its nationwide rollout of High-Speed 2go(TM).

Comcast's High-Speed 2go is a mobile Internet solution that provides the fastest available wireless Internet speeds in the nation via wireless data cards. Launched last year in Philadelphia, High-Speed 2go is now also available in the following Eastern Division markets: Baltimore, Richmond, Washington, D.C. and the Pennsylvania markets of Harrisburg, York, Scranton, Reading, Lancaster, State College and Lebanon.

Comcast's High-Speed 2go offers a fourth-generation or 4G wireless service in addition to a nationwide 3G wireless service. Comcast will be selling this wireless service bundled with one or more of its popular Internet, phone and television products, providing mobile broadband wherever and whenever customers need to be connected.

"The world-class services Comcast is known for in the home are beginning to be extended to anywhere consumers work, live and play with the launch of Comcast's High-Speed 2go mobile solution," said Rick Lang, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Comcast's Eastern Division. "Comcast continues to drive innovation in the industry and this launch gives customers the best of both worlds -- the fastest fast at home and on the go as a natural extension of our super fast wired high-speed Internet."

Comcast is currently selling two different data cards and service plans in the new markets:

  --  High-Speed 2go Nationwide (3G) service uses a 3G-only data card giving
customers nationwide wireless service. The 3G-only device operates on
      Sprint's national 3G network.
  --  High-Speed 2go Nationwide Preferred (4G/3G) service delivers the
fastest metro 4G service plus coast-to-coast access on Sprint's
national 3G network. The 4G/3G device operates by switching between
      available 4G and 3G networks.

In addition, some areas like Philadelphia are now offering High-Speed 2go Metro (4G) service, using a 4G-only data card to give customers the fastest wireless service within the 4G metro coverage area. The 4G device operates only in a 4G network footprint.

Bundled Pricing

For the first time, consumers will have access to both the fastest wired and wireless Internet in the nation -- sold together at launch as a "Fast Pack" for as low as $54.99 per month for one year. Both new and existing Comcast customers will be eligible for special bundled pricing, with Comcast High-Speed Internet customers receiving 4G wireless or 3G wireless as an add-on for as low as $40 per month. Visit http://www.comcast.com/highspeed2go for additional pricing plans and service packages. *

The Fast Pack Nationwide (3G) service, for as low as $54.99, includes Comcast's 12 Mbps home Internet service; a free WiFi router for mobility and extended coverage in the home; and nationwide 3G mobile network access. For an additional $15 per month, consumers can upgrade to the Fast Pack Nationwide Preferred (4G/3G) service that includes the Fast Pack Metro 4G service plus nationwide 3G mobile Internet access. Where available, the $54.99 Fast Pack Metro (4G) service includes Comcast's home Internet service with speeds up to 12 Mbps; a free WiFi router for mobility and extended coverage in the home; and 4G service that will provide 3 to 6 Mbps average download speeds when customers are on the go.

Comcast is selling wireless data services following its investment in Clearwire in November 2008. Comcast's 4G service will be provided via the Clearwire network, and its 3G service will be provided by Sprint's nationwide 3G network. Comcast is one of the first investors in Clearwire to bring a service to market and expects that it will continue to add value to existing bundled products.
